Total E&P Indonesie and Transnusa Partner Mandala

January 1st, 2009 by admin

Fresh from planning and executing new routes through its ongoing fleet expansion, Mandala Airlines has also been expanding its market share by signing important new tactical partnerships.

Mandala recently sealed a deal which will bring more passengers. The airline recently signed an agreement with Total E&P Indonesie to provide air travel to its employees.

The signing in Balikpapan (pictured above right) between CEO Mandala Airlines Warwick Brady, and Vice President for Drilling Well Services & Logistics Mr Darto Sayogyo, made Mandala one of the approved airlines to carry the 9,000 employees and partners of Total E&P Indonesie for air travel in Indonesia.

“The cooperation with Total E&P Indonesie is very important for Mandala and we are delighted to be an approved airline of Total E&P Indonesie,” said Brady.

The airline offers its corporate customers the Mandala Priority product, highlighted by complimentary access to approved airport lounges, priority seat selection, and complimentary food and
beverages from Mandala’s onboard café.

To better service the eastern part of Indonesia, Mandala has entered into an agreement with TransNusa Air Services (pictured, corner left), thus adding more destinations in the eastern part of Indonesia. For the passenger, this means Mandala now provides feeder services from Jakarta to Kupang, connecting to surrounding cities such as Ende, Sika in Maumere, Bajawa in Ngada, Ampenan in Lombok, Waingapu in East Sumba, Tambolaka in West Sumba, Labuan Bajo in Komodo Island and Alor.

East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is very important for Mandala, due to its large population and strong potential for growth. These additional routes will operate via a fleet of ATR 42-300 aircraft and Fokker 50 in Nusa Tenggara Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat and Bali provinces.

The agreement means that Kupang will become a new hub for passengers to and from Ende, Sika, Bajawa, Ampenan, Waingapu, Tambolaka, Labuan Bajo and Alor. Onward connections to Jakarta and Surabaya will also be made easier. Warwick Brady said that adding more connected destinations to East Nusa Tenggara would aid economic growth and tourism development in eastern Indonesia.

LETTERS TO THE CEO

I am a frequent flier of Garuda (Platinum) and stayed in Medan for 20 months. I never tried another airline within those 18 months. When my secretary booked me on Mandala Airlines four months back, I told her to cancel the ticket because I was scared to use any other. She explained, the meeting was very important, no tickets were available. Finally, I agreed. I was a bit surprised as my flight took off on time, which I had never expected. Then I took the Medan-Padang-Jakarta flight, and again it was on time. Ground staff were very cooperative and boarding was very smooth. I have used Mandala more than 12 times now and will keep on doing so. Hope we keep getting flights on time. Thanks, Mandala.

Warm greetings from Bali. I recently took a short flight from Surabaya to Denpasar on your most impressive new carrier. I must admit, I couldn’t believe my eyes. New plane, fresh and smiling staff, and best of all, the flight’s on time. Congratulations for turning around an airline with a long history.

I just want to say thanks to all of Mandala’s crew in Pontianak for a nice flight. I really enjoyed it.
