MANDALA’S BENCHMARK T3 BASE GIVES ITS JAKARTA PASSENGERS AN ADDED EDGE

In line with its commitment to provide the best passenger services, Mandala has stepped up the promotion of its state-of-the-art operations in Jakarta, at Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Together with the local airport authority, PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II, Mandala is proudly promoting what it confidently calls Indonesia’s greenest airport terminal. “T3 was designed using an environmentally friendly concept and has supporting facilities that improve a passenger’s experience,” says Terminal 3’s general manager, Salahudin Rafi.
Terminal 3 has become a pilot project for implementation across all airports in Indonesia, he notes. “We’ve used a concept of ‘reduce, reuse, and recycle’ across the whole operation, including a water processing centre to recycle used water. In addition, the utilization of glass and natural light in the terminal area reduces electricity consumption during the day,” he explains.
Mandala Airlines was a launch partner with T3, relocating its operations in line with the terminal’s launch on April 20, which was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Terminal 3 was built on an area of 48.5 hectares and was designed with five piers. It can accommodate 20 million passengers per year.
Mandala’s president director, Diono Nurjadin said relocation from Terminal 1C to the modern new terminal has provided an additional edge for the airline over its competitors. “This of course improves the convenience and services for the passengers.”
Blending modern architecture with a fun traveling experience, T3 provides passengers with a positive and friendly terminal ambience as well as an interesting airside view. The terminal has a smoking room and free Wifiinternet access.
Another advantage is its integrated reservation system, where passengers can book the hotel of their choice from the terminal. T3 provides a total of four e-reservation counters in its arrival and departure areas, as well as fresh drinking water stations that are guaranteed to be safe, thanks to laboratory tested filtration.
Another point of difference for T3 is its meeting point, which, unlike existing terminals, is located inside the terminal.
Here, passengers, fetchers and visitors can all meet at the same spot. The terminal’s information counter is available 24 hours, and other onsite facilities include banks, ATMs, restaurants, cafés and minimarts. “Passengers may also reserve a wide range of official Terminal 3 public transportation at the common use travel counter,” added Rafi.
