Natasha Dragun wrote the ‘Heart of Java, and ‘Scenic Wonders’ features. The deputy editor of DestinAsian says the stories made her eager to set off on holiday. “Indonesia is less like a country than a world unto itself. I can’t wait to explore it some more.” Natasha’s big ambition for the coming year is to “go scuba diving at least once a month. With 17,000 islands, I won’t have trouble finding inspiration.”
Chris Holm compiled our ‘Surfing the Wave’ feature for Better Business. The New Zealand born business editor for the Jakarta Globe says looking at personal investment strategies was an interesting experience, especially given recent market volatility. “The overwhelming message was, spread your risk and be prudent. If you’re seeking higher returns, make sure it’s not money you can’t afford to lose.”
Harumi Supit wrote our furniture story, ‘Taking Shape’, for this issue. Having had a break from writing to have a baby, she enjoyed meeting some of the leaders in local product design. “It’s so inspiring to see the level of talent we have. I truly think Indonesia’s creative industry will be world class.” Aside from writing and motherhood, Harumi says 2010 will be taken up with a mix of home renovation and travel.
