AIRLINE JOINS CARDIG INTERNATIONAL, NGOS AND MEDICAL TEAMS IN RELIEF EFFORT

In October, Mandala Airlines and representatives from Cardig International Group lent assistance to those affected by the Padang earthquakes, in the form of humanitarian aid, cash and free services.

President Director of Mandala, Diono Nurjadin, joined a senior team from Cardig International on a mission to Padang, where they met with city mayor, Fauzi Bahar to handle the humanitarian assistance following the tragic events. “Please allow us to express our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters in West Sumatra. We are committed to lend a hand with the recovery.”

Following the severe quakes in late September, the Mandala and Cardig International Group team worked hand-in-hand with volunteers, paramedics and the Transportation Department’s Disaster Relief Coordinating Center to help the victims of the disaster.

“We provided free cargo for 14 days. The services were utilized to mobilize medicines, blood stocks, foods, tents, blankets and other humanitarian aid,” said Diono.

Mandala added additional capacity during the aftermath of the quakes, as well as giving complimentary return tickets to Padang for medical teams. The airline also coordinated blood donations across Indonesia, collecting in 17 cities within the Mandala network.
